The Inaugural Thrombosis Research in Advanced Disease Alliance Scientific Meeting
took place on Wednesday 24th November 2010, 9am , Holland House Hotel, Cardiff, Wales
A one day conference was attended by healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with advanced malignant and non-malignant disease with venous thromboembolism and interested multi-professional teams in the field of haematology, oncology, palliative and primary care.
Topics included were:
- Venous thromboembolism in the palliative patient: the challenges
- The management of VTE where the evidence is lacking
- Update on new anticoagulants and their role in palliative care
- Researching thrombosis in vulnerable adult populations
- Showcase of on-going palliative care thrombosis studies
