Thrombosis Research in Advanced Disease (TRAD) Alliance

	John is currently employed as an Information Manager within the South East Wales Trials Unit (SEWTU).  With an MSc in Health Information Management from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth following a honours degree in Information Technology from the University of Glamorgan he has several years experience setting up and managing health related databases for the design, implementation and analysis of epidemiological studies, developing key expertise within management and research.
Having worked in the private and public sector he has a clear understanding of the needs associated with the collecting, manipulating and disseminating of relevant amounts of data from various Primary and Secondary Care sources. Providing this data as usable information to various individuals, studies, departments and organisations have led to a number of peer reviewed publications. Product and industry knowledge includes data warehousing and database management, interrogational programming expertise, analytical analysis, report design and web reporting.
John has a keen interest in establishing, developing and maintaining data mapping techniques, maintaining data integrity, managing and linking various generations of data files from varied sources and ensuring appropriate security and confidentiality in compliance to regulations including the Data Protection Act and Caldicott protocols.
