Thrombosis Research in Advanced Disease (TRAD) Alliance

“A global approach to thrombosis research”

July 2011: TRAD at the COMET Conference

The TRAD Alliance had a poster at the Core Outcome Measures for Effectiveness Trials conference in Bristol in July.  This is a developing initiative to focus on ensuring agreed measures are use across a domain to facilitate the use of evidence.  Input is needed from all stakeholders and there are a number of different methodological approaches used to combine views.  Further details on the initiative can be found on http://www.comet-initiative.org/.

The poster from TRAD focussed on the need for an agreed outcome set for thrombosis in advanced disease and put the case for this being distinct from thrombosis research in cancer.  Some interest was shown in the poster, particularly from the Cochrane Consumers and Communication Review group (
http://www.latrobe.edu.au/chcp/cochrane/).
