Research in Advanced Disease (TRAD) Alliance

“A global approach to thrombosis research”

Hull York Medical School
"HYMS is pleased to be a partner with the TRAD Alliance. Research in patients with VTE and advanced disease is a grossly neglected area as many of these patients are excluded from clinical trials. Cardiovascular disease research is a priority area in the HYMS research strategy and supports local researchers such as Miriam Johnson and Anthony Maraveyas in the field of thrombosis."
Professor Ian Greer, Dean of HYMS

South East Wales Trials Unit
"SEWTU is excited to be part of the TRAD Alliance. We are keen to be doing research that can make a difference to peoples lives, particularly in areas where research is challenging or not traditionally done. The studies being developed under this alliance tap directly into both of these areas and give huge potential to produce evidence which changes clinical practice and people's lives. We are also pleased to be supporting local clinicians, such as Simon Noble, to achieve their full potential as researchers as well as role models for best practice in the NHS."
Professor Kerenza Hood, Director of SEWTU

Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity
"The mission of Lifeblood: The Thrombosis Charity is to increase awareness of thrombosis among the public and health professionals and to support research in the prevention and improved care of thrombosis. The work of the TRAD Alliance will play an integral part in delivering these aims, especially for those whose conditions are often excluded from clinical studies."
Professor Beverley Hunt, Professor of Thrombosis & Haemostasis, King's College & Medical Director of Lifeblood: the Thrombosis Charity
